Daddy, My Very Own Superman.

We dream of heroes on gallant white horses, men who are mutants that can save the world or of a man whose only weakness is kryptonite. But in my world, I only have one hero - my Dad. My Dad who teases me of not having a boyfriend because I never comb my hair. Who said that I will have a geek for a prom date (It didn't happen). Who always have a comment on the color of nail polish that I choose. Who banned me from playing football because I would "ruin" the legs I have that he loves. Who always reprimands me for being lazy and not cleaning my room and for always "putting down" my brother.
Despite all this, I cherish every moment. there's no reward in this world enough to thank my Dad for everything that he has done for us. Thank you, Dad, for all the bedtime stories about the gods of Olympus, the Romanovs and Queen Elizabeth I. For being my first boyfriend and lifelong love even though I don't comb my hair. For never being angry if I dye my hair, or paint my nails red. For being my number 1 fan when I play football even if it would ruin my legs. For washing my clothes and for cooking dinners. For patiently teaching me how to cook even if I'm hopeless. For all the late night stories and for putting up with our noise. For allowing me to drink alcohol and allowing me to go home late. For being faithful to Mom and loving me and my brother.
And I want you to know that even though you pass through midlife crisis a thousand times, I'll always love you. No matter what. Because I know that you will always be the man of my dreams, my boyfriend, my superhero. Even though you can't give us all the material things that we need, I know that you will move even the great Mayon if you have to. And that's what makes you the greatest. I love you, with your gray hair that you always make me dye black, blackheads, stinky feet and dark skin. You are still the most gwapo. I love you, Daddy! I'll always be your little girl. :*
